The Familiars

Two beings reflecting the essence of each other are Familiars. The Familiars series presents paintings of animals with humans in ways that suggest some have a deep connection on a personal level, an instinctual awareness of sameness. The compositions, on spare backgrounds, balance a single human figure with a single counterpart. In certain instances, one individual may be cognizant of a connection while the other remains on the periphery of realization, unaware or barely sensing that their Familiar exists nearby.
